Glycerol also called glycerine or glycerin; is a simple polyol compound. This 99.5% Grade has typically failed one or more of te USP test parameters so has been downgrded to Industrial applications. The glycerol backbone is found in all lipids known as triglycerides. Glycerol has three hydroxyl groups that are responsible for its solubility in water and its hygroscopic nature.
