Water purification, waste water treatment.
Flocculant, phosphorus control, struvite control, chelate removal, removal of metals (Ni, Cr, Cd, Cu, Pb, Zn). Dose rate may range from 1 mg/L to 50 mg/L, depending on the water quality.
Optimum dose rate is determined by jar tests. For drinking water applications, the maximum dose rate is 35 mg/L of ferric chloride solution, based on the revised Drinking-water Standard for NZ (revised 2008), with a
safety factor of 10.
