Sodium Silicate solution is a clear to slightly cloudy-white liquid, produced by dissolving sodium silicate in water.
The product is used mainly as an additive in wood pulp bleaching using hydrogen peroxide. Other applications include: lining Bessemer converters, foundry sand cores and moulds; manufacturing grindstones, abrasive wheels (as binder only), detergents, silica-alumina catalysts, titanium dioxide pigments, welding rods and electrodes, water treatment, chemical consolidation of soil, fireproofing fabrics and waterproofing walls.
